To make an appointment with your doctor, telephone the Practice on 9997 3911 during business hours or Appointments can be made at any time online through HotDoc search for “Pittwater Family”.
All patients of the practice are able to schedule appointments online using our handy HotDoc App which can be downloaded on all Apple and Android phones. For further information, head to HotDoc
We endeavor to provide patients with their doctor of choice, however urgent medical problems or emergencies will always be given priority. This can sometimes make this difficult. All doctors, however, have access to your medical records to ensure continuity of care.
We endeavour to run on time, however at times in an effort to provide exceptional care to our patients, delays are unavoidable. Our GPs will see sick children in a timely manner.
Interpreter services can be arranged if advised in advance.
High-quality care can occasionally result in appointments running for longer than anticipated, and we appreciate your understanding when this does happen. You are welcome to telephone ahead to check whether your appointment is running on schedule. You can also help keep us on time by scheduling an appropriate length appointment. If you have a number of things to discuss with your doctor, we recommend booking a 30 minute appointment.
New Patients
Please complete the new patient form before coming to our practice.
We welcome new patients. New patients are encouraged to phone our practice when making their initial appointment, so that our reception staff can advise you of important information and gather your contact details but this can be done online as well. New patients are booked for a 30 minute consultation which has a slightly higher charge which enables the Doctor to gather a history. We recommend bringing a health summary from your previous GP, a list of your current medications (it can be helpful to bring in all your medications in a bag for us to review), and a list of any allergies you may have.
All New Patients will be required to add a pre payment method in order to book an New patient appointment, unfortunately we have had a lot of new patients not turn up and our doctors appointment times are valuable. There will be a hold on a credit card entered and once the consultation is completed the charge will be applied. Our receptionists will still put this through to Medicare for your rebate.
Cancellation Policy – DISCLAIMER
Please provide us with 2 hours notice if you wish to cancel or change your appointment with your doctor.
Any cancellations or changes to appointments within 2 hours may attract a cancellation fee of $55 -$165.00
If you would like your full medical records transferred, please fill out this form and send to your old practice.
Full Medical Records Transfer Form
Your previous practice may charge a fee for this service and you will need to contact them to find out. Our friendly reception staff can also assist you with this process.
Test Results
We generally advise contacting the practice between 1 pm – 2 pm each day for test results. Please be aware that the details of results are not available to our reception staff, only the doctor’s advice regarding further follow-up appointments. This is to ensure the confidentiality of your personal health information.
Abnormal Results
Many people feel anxious when they have been told that their test results have returned with abnormalities that require further discussion with a doctor. This is understandable, however, an abnormal result does not automatically indicate a serious problem.
Results indicating minor abnormalities are quite common and while they are often not dangerous, they do usually require a follow-up appointment. Others may be urgent and require immediate attention. We recommend booking a follow-up visit at the time of your test either face to face or a phone consultation or contacting us seven days after your test to check that your results have been returned. As our receptionists may need to contact you to schedule an appointment, please ensure your contact details are up-to-date.
