Dr. Madeleine Southey is a warm and dedicated General Practitioner who truly cares about her patients. With a strong academic background, including First Class Honors and a University Medal, she’s committed to providing the best possible care. After earning her FRACGP in 2023, she’s built a diverse range of experience working in both busy city clinics and regional practices.
Dr. Southey takes a patient-centered approach to healthcare, working closely with each individual to ensure they receive the care they need. She has a broad interest in all areas of medicine, with particular passions for preventative health, skin cancer care, and women’s health. She’s skilled in skin cancer screening, biopsies, and excisions, and is continuing her training to further specialize in this field. She’s also experienced in the insertion and removal of the contraceptive implant (Implanon), also removal of Mirena.
Her hospital training has given her valuable experience in Paediatrics, emergency medicine, and palliative care, helping her offer a holistic and well-rounded approach to patient care. Dr. Southey is committed to staying up-to-date with the latest medical research and practices, ensuring she provides the highest quality care to her patients.
When she’s not in the clinic, Dr. Southey loves spending time with her husband, family, and friends. She enjoys getting outdoors, indulging in good food and wine, traveling, staying active, and enjoying live music.
Dr Maddie Southey works Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and some Saturdays.
